Help light up the Holiday Season for children by donating decorations for the fire trucks that will be part of this year’s Santa Spotting event. This will be the second year this event is held, with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, and others traveling with the Fire Department to areas around Macon-Bibb to visit with children.

“This is such a joyous time of the year, and we wanted to make sure that we brought some of that joy directly to people,” says District 2 Commissioner Paul Bronson.

Donations of outdoor battery-operated rope lights, medium to large wreaths, and candy canes can be brought to City Hall (700 Poplar Street) or Fire Station 10 (800 Oglethorpe Street) during normal business hours now through December 15. Any person or organization that would like to help decorate the fire trucks can email Commissioner Bronson at mbcbronson@maconbibb.us with the subject line of “Santa’s Helper.”

“We had such a great time seeing how happy Santa Spotting made children the first year we did it that we wanted to go even bigger this time with the decorations,” adds Commissioner Bronson. “This will give our entire community a chance to be part of that magic.”

Santa Spotting will be December 21 this year, and the route and stops will be announced at a later date.
