The Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department’s All-Star Basketball Team took home medals and a trophy after winning the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Class “A” 8 & Under State Championship. 

The team competed against eight teams in Tucker, GA the weekend of March 3-4. They defeated 4 teams with a win over Savannah, GA, who was defending Champion, to capture the GRPA Class “A” 8 & Under State Championship. 

“We are so proud of this team and their coaches for their commitment to the sport,” said Recreation Department Director Robert Walker. “They worked really hard to deserve the win.” 

The team was recognized by Mayor Lester Miller and the Commission at Tuesday night’s Commission Meeting. You can watch it here.
