On Saturday, April 10, more than 80 groups and 1,500 people came together to participate in the first Clean Streets Matter Community Cleanup, and it was an overwhelming success.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “Our community came together in a major way to clean up our neighborhoods…together. This is a great start to making a long-lasting impact on the place we call home.”

“It was an absolutely amazing day, and I am overwhelmed by the pride in their neighborhoods people showed this past weekend,” says Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful (KMBB) Executive Director Caroline Childs.

There will be a news conference on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Commission Chambers in City Hall (700 Poplar Street) to announce the collection totals and date of the next Community Cleanup. The event will only be open to invited guests, the media, and staff, and the general public can watch it online at www.facebook.com/maconbibbcounty.
