On Saturday, May 14, Macon Mental Health Matters will hold another Mental Health Pop-up Gym from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Frank Johnson Recreation Center (2227 Mercer University Drive).
This month is Mental Health Awareness Month and the activities for this weekend’s gym are aimed to give everyone the relief they may need in their lives. Activities include a Zen Tea Garden, yoga, creating vision boards, therapy consultations, and a drum circle. The gym is free and open to people of all ages.
“This weekend marks one year of offering these Mental Health pop up gyms,” says Andrea Cooke with the Southern Center for Choice Theory. “We are excited to continue to remove barriers and reduce stigma surrounding the access to mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month.”
