Macon Mental Health Matters will hold a Mental Health Pop-up Gym on Saturday, February 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Freedom Park (3301 Roff Ave.).

The gyms have made their way throughout the community since May 2021 as a way to bring mental health resources directly into neighborhoods through the Macon Mental Health Matters initiative. This weekend’s event includes a Zen tea garden, yoga, vision board creation, therapy consultations, and a drum circle. The gym is free and open to people of all ages.

“We are excited to continue hosting the Mental Health Pop-up Gyms in different areas of our community that often do not see any programming, or have easy access to health and wellness resources,” says Nancy Cleveland, Executive Director of Macon Head Space. “Our goal is to partner with more organizations and recruit more volunteers to help spread our efforts.”

The gym is also looking for volunteers to assist in the event this weekend and future events. If you are interested in volunteering, contact (917) 470-5491 or nancy@maconheadspace.com.
