Lifeguard shortage limits pool availability, hours

Due to a shortage of lifeguards, only two pools will be open on Saturday, May 29.

 

The pools at Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center (3326 Ocmulgee East Boulevard) and South Bibb Recreation Center (7035 Houston Road) will be open from 10 am to 3 pm. A schedule for these and the other pools for next week will be released on Monday, May 31.

 

Those recreation centers with pools are:

 

Bloomfield Recreation Center: 4115 Lions Place

Frank Johnson Recreation Center: 2227 Mercer University Drive

Memorial Park Recreation Center: 2465 Second Street

Booker T. Washington Community Center: 391 Monroe Street

Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center: 3326 Ocmulgee East Boulevard

South Bibb Recreation Center: 7035 Houston Road
