The world’s fastest growing sport is being celebrated all month long in Macon-Bibb! On Monday, April 4, Mayor Lester Miller joined our Recreation Department and pickleballers at Tattnall Square Park Tennis & Pickleball Center to present them with a proclamation making April Pickleball Month in the county.

Pickleball is very important as an intergenerational sport contributing to the quality of social life in our community, bolstering the health of all participants, and through regular tournaments, adding to the economic well-being of our county and region. It has grown so much in Macon-Bibb that it has hosted of the USA Pickleball Ambassador Retreat for Georgia Ambassadors, Georgia’s state recreation championships, and several other high-profile tournaments.

Following the presentation on Monday, Mayor Lester Miller joined the players on the court for his first official game of pickleball – and it won’t be his last, he says!
