Pickleballers from across the state spent their weekend in Macon and on the courts at the Tattnall Square Pickleball Center for the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Pickleball State Tournament. More than 450 people registered to play in the three-day event last Friday through Sunday.

“This weekend was proof positive of pickleball’s explosive growth not only in Macon, but throughout Georgia. Our 452 attendees not only set a new record for a tournament at Tattnall, but for the GRPA State Pickleball Championships,” said Macon Pickleball Board Member John Roberts. “The support of the entire Macon community from individual volunteers to the businesses that support these events continually validates our city leaders’ investment in establishing Macon as a pickleball destination.”

This is the third year in a row the GRPA chose to host the tournament at Tattnall Square.

There are currently 26 dedicated pickleball courts lighted for people to play all hours of the day at the Tattnall Pickleball Center.
