The Pedestrian Safety Review Board (PSRB) is holding the 2023 Pedestrian Summit on Tuesday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Commission Chambers at City Hall (700 Poplar Street).

Community members are invited to learn about the history of the PSRB, the education initiatives put in place the first few years, see the infrastructure improvements made based on their recommendations, learn about an ongoing study that will define the next phase of work, and hear about a stronger relationship with the Department of Transportation that will lead to improvements on the major thoroughfares. Media members are also invited to attend and conduct interviews following the presentations.

Speaking at the Summit will be PSRB Chair Greg Brown, Mayor Lester Miller, District 3 Commissioner Elaine Lucas, Toad Roach with Peachtree Recovery Services, Traffic Engineer Nigel Floyd, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, and Coroner Leon Jones.

“We want to provide a comprehensive update to the public on what this board is doing to study our roads, make safety improvements, educate people who use the roads, and reduce fatalities,” says PSRB Board Member Charise Stephens-Merriweather. “We haven’t been able to hold a summit like this since before the pandemic, so we’re glad to resume and present this information to the community.”
