The Macon-Bibb Parks & Recreation Department is currently undergoing a comprehensive planning process to help set a course for the next 10 years of programs and facilities. As part of that process, they are looking for feedback directly from people about the current state of the facilities, the programs being offered, and what programs they would like offered. The planning process is being led and developed by Travis Pruitt & Associates.

The survey can be accessed by clicking here, and the deadline to respond is June 1, 2017. It is anonymous and takes about 8 – 10 minutes to complete. Upon completing the survey, people will have the chance to enter a raffle for one free summer football registration, one free rental at any Parks & Recreation location, or one free week of Summer Camp at participating locations.

There will also be several public forums (schedule below) for people to attend to learn more about recreation programs and centers, ask questions, and provide feedback that will be used in the planning process. A first round of forums was previously held on April 22, 2017 at Rosa Jackson Community Center, Gilead Gymnasium, Lake Tobesofkee and Theron Ussery Community Center.

“We want to make sure we are taking an accurate and comprehensive pulse of our community and its recreation needs,” says Parks and Recreation Director Reggie Moore. “As we make significant improvements to our recreation centers and parks, this is the ideal opportunity to review what’s being offered. We want to better serve our neighborhoods, and to do so, we need to know what they think of us now and how they see us improving.”
