Christopher Austin, a sports enthusiast and dedicated professional, began his journey in recreation at an early age. After attending Bainbridge High School, he pursued his passion for baseball, playing for both Andrew College and Georgia Southwestern State University.
Following his college years, Christopher embarked on a rewarding career in the field of recreation, starting as a part-time activity leader in Tallahassee, Florida. Due to his exceptional skills and commitment, he quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to the position of After School Coordinator.
In 2015, Christopher seized an opportunity with Macon Bibb County and assumed the role of Coordinator II at the prestigious Freedom Park Recreation Center. Throughout his tenure with Macon Bibb, he has also held key positions such as Center Supervisor at the LH Williams Recreation Center in the Historic Pleasant Hill Neighborhood. Currently, Christopher serves as the Athletic Coordinator for the Macon Bibb Athletics department, overseeing various sporting events and programs.
Having experienced firsthand the impact of recreational sports in his own journey to higher education, Christopher is driven to be a positive influence for today’s youth through recreational programming. He aspires to provide opportunities for young individuals to excel, grow, and achieve their goals, just as he did. Christopher’s dedication and commitment to the field of recreation make him a valuable asset to the communities he serves.
