Our “On Call” video series is back this week, giving you another behind-the-scenes look at the people who work every day to serve and protect our community.

This week, Multimedia Manager Olivia Walter introduces us to Senior Animal Enforcement Officer Rebecca Galeazzo, whose job is all about protecting and caring for some of Macon-Bibb County’s most vulnerable residents: our animals.

No two days are quite the same for Galeazzo. She can go from rescuing an animal in need, to investigating cases of animal abuse or cruelty, to helping care for and maintain the animals at the shelter.

The job requires compassion, patience, and sometimes a lot of quick thinking. Whether she’s responding to a call in the community or working with animals at the shelter, Galeazzo is focused on making sure they are safe and properly cared for.

“Rebecca never knows what her day may bring, but she approaches every call with compassion and a genuine love for animals,” said Walter. “I hope this episode gives people a new perspective on a job that means caring for and protecting the animals that can’t advocate for themselves.”

In this week’s episode of “On Call,” you’ll get to ride along with Galeazzo, learn more about what goes into animal enforcement, and see a side of the job you may not always get to see.
