Beverly Knight Olson, one of four daughters of the Knight Foundation co-founder James L. Knight, was recognized on Wednesday, October 19, for her work in our community for many years.

The Knight Foundation Trustee currently serves on the boards of the Macon-Bibb Law Enforcement Foundation, the Macon Sports Hall of Fame, and the Mercer University Athletic Foundation and is secretary of the Rescue Mission of Central Georgia. She was the first to endorse the Navicent Health project to construct a new Children’s Hospital that more than doubled the space dedicated to caring for Central and South Georgia’s pediatric community.

Throughout the years, Olson has quietly and humbly supported many organizations in our community by giving of herself and providing financial support.

A proclamation by Mayor Lester Miller proclaims October 19, 2022, as Beverly Knight Olson Appreciation Day. You can read it here.
