Access to Ocmulgee River closed due to speed of water

May 25, 2018

Published by

In consultation with the Department of Natural Resources, the Parks and Beautification Department is closing all access to the Ocmulgee River because of how fast it is flowing. This includes the ramps in Amerson River Park and at Spring Street. Please stay off of the Ocmulgee River.

The parks themselves remain open, and our departments will monitor river levels to determine if and when they should be closed.

For updated weather information and closures, please follow the Emergency Management Agency on Facebook and Twitter
