A park in a diverse part of Macon-Bibb is getting many upgrades, thanks to a grant from The Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Parks & Beautification Interim Director Sam Kitchens says the team is still discussing how to use the $79,000, but that it will include a walking trail, and activity or workout stations aimed at people of all ages.

“There’s no park in town with that much diversity in walking distance. We want the park design to reflect that, and offer something for everyone. In doing that, we hope people will get to know folks they might not otherwise get to know. It’ll bring the community together, which is what Parks and Beautification is all about.”

The Macon-Bibb County Commission approved accepting the grant from The Community Foundation of Central Georgia at the November 1 Commission meeting. You can read the resolution, here.
