At the Macon-Bibb Commission Meeting on Tuesday, March 16, Mayor Lester Miller and Commissioners honored two student athletes who won national awards for cycling.

Richone Jackson (pictured here) and Jaddarious Taylor both received honors from the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. Richone and Jaddarius are the Youth President and President for U Create Macon, a biking organization. Out of 25,000 students in the country, these young men were the only ones in Georgia to be recognized by NICA. Richone won the Specialized Student Athlete Leadership Award, and Jaddarious won the GU Energy Extraordinary Courage Award.

They were nominated for these awards by peers, and won due to their leadership, partnership, and impact on their communities. Congratulations to these standout young men! You can watch the recognition at the Commission meeting at the 2:15 mark in this video.
