On Friday, June 23, our Parks and Beautification Department along with Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful (KMBB) planted trees along Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd between Oglethorpe and Hazel Streets.
“We are so excited to contribute to the revitalization of this part of MLK Blvd,” said KMBB Executive Director Asha Ellen. “A special ‘thank you’ to Michael Glisson [Director of Parks and Beautification] for making this all possible. Once I shared our vision with him, he made it a reality. We are blessed to have such a strong partnership with our local government. I look forward to many more beautification projects in the future.”
The trees were purchased and planted thanks to a $10,000 MLK Community Improvement Grant from Keep America Beautiful. They planted 23 Maple Trees, three Cherry Trees, and two Crab Apple Trees.
