The Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center and its visitors stay busy. Center directors want to make sure everyone who visits gets a complete experience in wellness. That’s where Mental Mondays come in. Mental Mondays They begin at 10:00 a.m. each week, on Monday of course, so everyone can start their week with a dose of cognitive exercise.

“As we age, it’s easy to forget things, so it is vital to have a variety of activities and opportunities to keep us moving,” says Senior Center Director Andrea Lee. “I want everyone who visits the Senior Center to get a full mind, body, and soul experience. Placing emphasis on mental wellness and brain elasticity really helps our seniors stay sharp and active!”

Mental Mondays includes workouts for both the brain and the body. Organizers use an activity packet which features worksheets, math, word-searches, photo searches, and other written challenges. After working through some of the written fun, everyone gets up for a workout and a walk, with music.

The Senior Center offers a variety of activities for our young-at-heart community members. This includes field trips, educational events, arts and crafts, physical activities for people of all ability levels, dancing, singing, and more! Click here to get involved.

We recently featured Mental Mondays on our Tik Tok page.

You can watch that video here. The Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center has an active Facebook page with photos and information on activities. Follow along to join in the fun!
