Macon-Bibb County Mayor Pro Tem and District 9 Commissioner Al Tillman will hold a series of four public forums in different areas of the county to provide people with an update on and ask questions about their consolidated government.

The first forum will be held at Lake Tobesofkee in the enclosed pavilion in Claystone Park (6600 Mosley Dixon Road) on Thursday, July 26 beginning at 6:00 p.m., and will include a discussions on the budget, trash and recycling services, and how to pay your taxes. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.  Since this is a public forum, there will not be a fee to enter the park.

“This is a critical time for our community and government, and we need people to be engaged with us to make sure we are all moving forward together,” says Mayor Pro Tem Tillman. “I want people to understand what we’re trying to accomplish, and to hear from them about where they believe we need to be focused.”

The other forums have not yet been scheduled, but they will be hosted in different areas of the county in order to give as many people as possible the chance to attend. Since the consolidated Macon-Bibb County was created on January 1, 2014, Mayor Pro Tem Tillman and other Commissioners have held similar forums to help keep the community informed.
