On September 21, Mayor Lester Miller proclaimed the day to honor NotiVisión Georgia for its efforts and accomplishments in our community.

NotiVisión Georgia, a Hispanic-owned media outlet, was founded in 2018 by Monica Pirela and immediately worked to become a trusted source of information and communication. It began as an online news outlet but has since expanded to include a newspaper printed in both English and Spanish in order to help bring people who speak either language closer together.

“NotiVisión Georgia has been an integral part of the Macon-Bibb Hispanic Festival,” said Mayor Miller. “From planning to organizing to marketing, to make sure it is a celebration for all people with a focus on educating the community on the beauty, history, and depth of the Hispanic culture.”

On June 15, 2024, NotiVisión Georgia made history by becoming the first Hispanic media outlet in Middle Georgia to receive an Emmy Award at the 50th Annual Southeast Regional Emmy Awards of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
