About 80 religious, faith-based, and community leaders gathered at the Historic Macon Terminal Station on Thursday, August 14, to not only share lunch, but thoughts that would make their community better.  

“I know a lot of great things are happening in our community,” Mayor Lester Miller told the crowd as they ate. He highlighted some of the work being done with the newly approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), road improvements, and justice reform. 

“I want to thank you for your service to our community all year long,” he added. 

After Mayor Miller spoke, Kevin Byrd with the BrownByrd Foundation, Inc., Brandi Prestridge with “We are Living Proof”, and Garret Williams with Central Georgia Council all shared information about their work in the community.  

The purpose of the Council of the Mayor’s Clergy is “Building a Better Community”. The vision of the Council of Clergy is to “Promote Unity in the Community by Partnering with Government and Related Agencies”. The Mission of the Council of Clergy is to “Build a Better Community by Fostering Healthy Racial Relations”.
