More Than 23,500 Guests Attend Shows at Two of Macon’s Premiere Live Entertainment Venues

Oak View Group, operators of the Macon Centreplex, announced four high profile live events in a four-day span at two of Macon’s premier live entertainment venues drew more than 23,500 combined guests and generated more than $5-million in spending for the Macon-Bibb County region, according to data compiled by Visit Macon.

The big events included Red Clay Strays (October 9), and the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Gov’t Mule (October 11) which streamed live worldwide on Nugs.net, both at Atrium Health Amphitheater; and two shows featuring comedian Matt Mathews (October 12) at the Macon City Auditorium.

“This incredible milestone is a huge win for the entire community as the economic ripple effect from these shows reaches far beyond the stage,” said David Aiello, Oak View Group’s General Manager, Macon Centreplex. “These concerts generated an estimated $5-million in spending that ultimately benefit local businesses and showcase the vibrancy of Macon and Middle Georgia.”

With fans traveling an average of 150 miles out across these events, and encompassing all of Georgia and the Southeast, these events highlight the growing demand for world-class entertainment in Macon, GA.

“Our venues are world class and the turnout for our events reinforces Macon as a premier destination for live entertainment,” added Aiello. “We are grateful to our promoter partners, the artists, agents and managers, who recognize what we have going in Macon and support our efforts to bring more live entertainment to the region.”

“The sold-out shows brought visitors from all around the country, and the synergy between the shows and other activities here in Macon during the same timeframe created an opportunity for us to welcome those visitors for more than just one concert,” said Visit Macon President & CEO Gary Wheat. “We saw longer hotel stays and know that our visitors had the opportunity to experience our great attractions, events, restaurants, and shopping during their stay. This weekend allowed all of Macon to shine and to garner some incredible exposure to new and returning guests.”

“What an amazing week of entertainment for our community and for thousands of visitors, thanks to our dedicated Centreplex team,” said Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller. “Oak View Group successfully brought in top acts and then managed them to a high degree of expertise that provided the artists and audience a top-notch experience. We are setting the bar for the future of entertainment for our entire region and state.”

Oak View Group has a busy 2025-26 ahead with Macon Mayhem hockey, country star Lee Brice (November 6), comedian Katt Williams (February 21), Masters of Funk (February 28), Joe Bonamassa (March 20) and more.
