Our very own 8U Macon United Football team won the 2021 AAU National Championship!
In December 2021, Macon-Bibb had four football teams travel to Orlando, Florida to compete in the 2021 AAU Football National Championship. The 8U team, consisting of 16 players, were recognized Tuesday night at the Commi
ssion meeting.
“We are excited about the accomplishments of 8U Macon United Hurricanes,” said Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department Director Robert Walker. “Their hard work and dedication was displayed over the entire week as they competed. We aim to continue providing lifelong experiences for our youth through various programs offered by Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department.”
Macon United is an extension of Macon Bibb County Recreation Department’s youth football program. Macon United is a travel football program made up of four team which includes 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U team. Macon United competes in elite football leagues and tournaments on local, state, and regional levels.
