Celebrating women making #MaconBibbHERstory

The month of March is nationally recognized as Women’s History Month, so we are highlighting the incredible women working in the Macon-Bibb County Government with our award-winning #MaconBibbHERstory posts.

“As women, we’ve got a lot of pressure on us. From handling our households, jobs, school, friends, kids, – it’s a lot. I wanted to find a way to connect the community to the women who work in our government, while also making these ladies feel appreciated and seen,” said County Public Relations Specialist Rachel Gambill. “We’ve come a long way since the suffragette movement and not being able to own property, but there’s more to do in the way of equality and representation. This Women’s History Month Campaign is our way of elevating these women’s’ voices and celebrating their contributions! “

Every day, we will spotlight an employee, along with their take on why Women’s History Month is so important. You can view each post on www.facebook.com/MaconBibbCounty, www.instagram.com/MaconBibbCounty , and www.twitter.com/MaconBibb

During our March 1 Commission meeting, Commissioners Elaine Lucas and Valerie Wynn presented a proclamation in honor of Women’s History Month in our County.
