How do you get your information about what’s going on in your government and community? If it’s the news, a social media post, or email, chances are it likely came from our Communications Office. The team, made up of four people, works every day on how to better tell the stories happening in Macon-Bibb County. 

“We like to bring a unique approach to educating people on what our government is doing,” said Public Relations Specialist Edna Adams. “In this podcast episode, we dive into how we got to where we are and what it takes to get our community’s stories told.” 

“I get to press record on the moments that make Macon special,” said Public Relations Specialist Olivia Walter. “From big announcements to everyday wins, it’s an honor to help tell the stories of this community; whether it’s through video, a press conference, or this podcast. There’s so much good happening here and I love being part of the team that gets to show it off.” 

The Communications team is responsible for developing and maintaining communication strategies between the Macon-Bibb County government and the community it serves. Communications includes Public & Media Relations, Multimedia and Graphic Design Services, Social Media, Event Planning, and Photography, Video Services, Executive Communications, and Crisis Communications
