Lifeguards needed for summer pool season

April 30, 2026

Our Recreation Department is hiring lifeguards to help keep swimmers safe at our pools this summer. The position pays $14 per hour, with 35–40 hours of work each week.

All county lifeguards must be certified through the Red Cross, and the Recreation Department will cover the cost of that training. If you can swim and are legally eligible to work in the U.S., you’re encouraged to apply. Click here to apply.

“We’re looking forward to another great summer at our pools, but safety always comes first,” said Recreation Director Robert Walker. “Our lifeguards play a critical role in creating a fun, safe environment for families, and we’re proud to train and support them every step of the way.”

Pools will officially open Saturday, May 23, for Memorial Day weekend. They will operate Tuesday through Saturday and be closed on Sundays and Mondays. Click here to visit our employment page and apply to be a lifeguard.
