Honoring our #LegacyOfLeadership

For Black History Month in February, the Offices of Community Affairs, Small Business Affairs, and Communications recognized and celebrated African American leaders in our community with a #LegacyOfLeadership campaign.

Throughout the month, we highlighted past and present leaders on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with a brief bio, a quote, or a combination of the two showing the impact they had on our community.

“It is important for us to celebrate both the people whose shoulders we stand on and the people who are standing on those shoulders,” says Community Affairs Executive Director Dr. Henry Ficklin. “We were really impressed with the feedback we received on all of the posts. It goes to show how our community is truly proud of the leaders we have and have had in Macon-Bibb.”
