Macon-Bibb County’s Walker Road Landfill will be closed Friday, October 11, for several hours as Georgia Power changes out a transformer and pole in the area. This work will cut power to the scale house, meaning material coming into the landfill cannot be weighed and documented as required by the Environmental Protection Division.
The closure is anticipated to take about two hours, and the landfill will reopen once power is restored. To find out when it’s open again Friday, call 478-751-9296.
While the landfill is closed to the public, crews will focus on maintenance, including digging dirt, filling in bare spots, putting down hay, weed eating, cutting grass, and more.
