The Ties of Friendship: celebrating our 40-year partnership with Kurobe, Japan

To celebrate a 40-year friendship, a group from Macon-Bibb traveled to Kurobe, Japan. While there, they toured government offices, met with officials and citizens, and took part in cultural activities. The partnership between our community and theirs was formed in 1977 where the two pledge to cooperate as sister cities, to deepen friendship and understanding. This partnership also serves to foster and enhance the relation between Macon-Bibb and one of our major employers- Japan-based YKK.

At the October 17 County Commission meeting, commissioners approved a resolution to affirm the ties of friendship with Kurobe, and to continue that union. You can see photos from the trip to Kurobe, and learn more about our friendship and unique experiences, by clicking here.
