From Visit Macon – The American Jet Sport Association (AJSA) is hosting the first competition of their 2023 Summer Series in Macon this weekend at Sandy Beach Park on Lake Tobesofkee. The 3-day professional jet ski competition will take place on April 21-23.

Earlier this morning Mayor Lester Miller and Visit Macon President & CEO Gary Wheat announced the return of this national professional competition to Macon. This weekend’s event will be the first ProRider competition that has been hosted in Macon in 20 years.

“It’s a very great day in Macon-Bibb when we can bring back such an exciting event every family can enjoy!” Says Mayor Miller. “Thanks to Visit Macon for their work on this and bringing so many people out to our beautiful Lake Tobesofkee.”

The event will bring up to 150 professional racers to Macon who will compete in a series of rounds throughout the weekend. The competition is open to the public who can purchase a day pass for $10 and kids 6 & under are free. Passes include access to all attractions Lake Tobesofkee has to offer. Alcohol is not permitted at the park and food trucks will be available at Sandy Beach Park all weekend. No swimming will be allowed during the competition.

The public can participate in the event on Friday, April 21 during The Corporate Challenge race. Beginning at 9am anyone can come out and ride the jet skis on Lake Tobesofkee with proceeds going towards the local Special Olympics. The competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m to 5:30 p.m.

Rules at Lake Tobesofkee:

• Sandy Beach will open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. both days
• Admissions $10 adults per day and 6 under free.
• No grilling at park inside or outside of gate.
• No glass containers.
• No alcohol.
• Children under 13 must be accompany by adult.
• No swimming at sandy beach “safety precautions.
• Swimming area will be closed during event.
• Law Enforcement Rangers will be patrolling parks and water ways.
