Our Macon-Bibb County Clerk of Commission Janice Ross has been elected Vice President of the Georgia County Clerks Association.

She was sworn in on Friday, April 24, during ACCG’s Georgia Counties Conference, where county officials from across the state gathered to collaborate and discuss issues impacting local governments.

“I am honored to be elected Vice President of the association.  I look forward to working alongside clerks and elected officials from around the state and am committed to listening, learning, and helping us move forward,” said Ross.

Ross brings years of experience to the position. Prior to consolidation, she worked with the Bibb County Board of Commissioners for nearly a decade, first as an Administrative Assistant and later as an Executive Assistant. She also holds a Clerks Masters Education Management Program Certificate and a Management Development Program Certificate from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

She has also been actively involved with the Georgia County Clerks Association, previously serving as Director for District 6 and Treasurer, and as a member of the Board of Directors, Hospitality Committee, Budget Committee, and Education Committee. In 2022, the Association named her Georgia’s Clerk of the Year.

The Georgia County Clerks Association, organized more than 50 years ago, works to promote coordination among county clerks and their boards of commissioners while advancing the overall welfare of county government. The organization also helps bring awareness to the challenges local governments face in delivering services and works with county and state leaders to develop solutions.

One of its key priorities is supporting the Municipal and County Clerk Certification Program, a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening professional development and leadership among clerks.

Ross’s election highlights her continued commitment to public service and positions Macon-Bibb County as a leader in supporting effective, transparent local government.
