As the days get colder, seniors have an opportunity to stay active, while staying warm. The Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center is now offering indoor pickleball at the Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center.

“I like for our 50 and older aged members to stay active,” said Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center Supervisor Andrea Lee. “They truly enjoyed it. They’ve been asking to play pickleball again since October, but with the weather being up and down, it made it hard for us. So, bringing this indoors has really made a difference.”

“I started playing pickleball back in May and have really enjoyed it,” said Sarah Marten. “I’m the type of person that when I’m doing something, I’m going to do it to the fullest.”

The Macon Pickleball Association introduced seniors to the sport last summerand they have quickly fallen in love with the sport. The indoor courts at Delores A. Brooks will be open through February.
