Our Fire Department assisted by sending team members to help in South Georgia, responding to areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene. As part of the Central Georgia Task Force 4, Macon-Bibb was just one of 13 agencies that made up the GSAR (Georgia Search and Rescue) team.

Our crew played a critical role in search and rescue operations across several counties, covering nearly 400 miles in under 48 hours. We were honored to collaborate with the following agencies:

– Houston County Sheriff’s Office
– Houston County Fire Department
– Warner Robins Fire Department
– Sumter County Fire Rescue
– Macon-Bibb County Fire Department
– Pickens EMS (from Chattanooga, TN)
