HR Department to Host First Government Career Fair

Macon-Bibb County’s Human Resources Department is hosting its first-ever Career Fair on Saturday, November 19, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center (132 Willie Smokie Glover Drive). It’s open to anyone eligible to work and who is 18 years of age or older. Job seekers should dress professionally and be prepared for on-site interviews with HR staff and department heads, and they should bring their ID and copies of their updated resume.
“We really want to focus on the long-term career opportunities in our government, while highlighting all open positions in our departments,” says Assistant HR Director Joveta Turner. “This Career Fair is a way for the public to connect with us in a new way, while also giving our directors additional support in the interviewing and hiring process.”
Some of the Departments & Offices which will be on site are:
  • Careers within the Court System
  • E-911
  • Economic & Community Development
  • Facilities Management
  • Finance
  • Fire Department
  • Recreation
  • Sheriff’s Office
  • Vehicle Maintenance
