Holiday government hours, trash pickup schedule

Macon-Bibb County offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Offices will also be closed on Wednesday, December 31, and Thursday, January 1, in observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. This includes City Hall, courthouses, and the Tax Commissioner’s Office. Emergency services will continue to operate as normal.

Trash and Recycling Collection
Ryland will not collect trash and yard waste on Thursday, December 25. Collection will shift one day later beginning that Thursday.

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday collections will remain unchanged.
  • Thursday collections will move to Friday.
  • Friday collections will move to Saturday.

Ryland will also not collect trash or recycling on Thursday, January 1. Collection will again shift one day later, following the same schedule.

Convenience Center
The 11th Street Convenience Center will be open for a half day on Wednesday, December 24, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and closed on Thursday, December 25, and will reopen on Friday, December 26. It will also be closed on Thursday, January 1.
