Yasmeen Roman is a dedicated Fire Private with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, where she responds to emergency calls and plays an essential role in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires. When asked about what inspired her to pursue this career, Yasmeen shared that her passion for helping others and the internal fulfillment it brings motivated her to take this path. She also enjoys working outdoors, using tools, and continually learning how to master them. From the moment she graduated high school, she knew that becoming a firefighter was her calling.

From a young age, Yasmeen learned the importance of hard work and dedication from her mother. “My mom is a jack of all trades. She works extremely hard and takes pride in it. I knew that no matter what I did, I wanted to be like her in that sense and be great at whatever I did,” Yasmeen shared when asked about her role model. She also offered some advice she would give to her younger self: “Ignore any negative talk. You can do it. It doesn’t matter what it is. As long as you work hard and put in the work, you can be successful at whatever it is that you decide to do.”
