Henry Burns Park receiving additional SPLOST funding

The Commission approved transferring $43,000 in voter-approved SPLOST funds from Recreation Land Acquisition Fund to help create a master plan for Henry Burns Park, which is on the corner of Ingleside Drive and Ridge Avenues. It has already received $40,000 in SPLOST-funded improvements of the $95,000 that was originally budgeted.

Macon-Bibb’s Quality of Life was identified as a Focus Area for its first Forward Together Strategic Plan, and upgrading and improving parks and recreation centers – especially with the use of SPLOST funds – are a key component of that effort.
