“We serve as one of the cornerstones of the community, ” said Felicia Pearson-Powell, Environmental Health County Manager at Macon-Bibb County Health Department (MBCHD). “We affect people whether it’s with their food, their water, their housing, their health, and it all comes back to public health and our service.”

In honor of this year’s National Public Health Week (April 4-10), MBCHD wanted to share why public health is important and why it should be a priority for the Macon-Bibb community. From a community health clinic to environmental health, the Health Department has a multitude of health services and programs that serve the community.
