On Thursday, October 26 students in the Georgia Civic Awareness Program for Students (GCAPS) got a VIP tour of our brand new Board of Elections Office (BOE) at the Macon Mall.
This was the first trip of the year for our new GCAPS class. They all got on a bus and went to the Macon Mall to get a tour from BOE Elections Supervisor Thomas Gillon. They toured the reception area, back offices, storage which holds most elections material, and learned about the importance of voting.
Throughout the year, GCAPS will tour and learn more about other government agencies and how our local government functions.
