On Thursday, August 29, the Recreation Department is hosting Summer Smash, a free community pickleball event, at the Tattnall Pickleball Center (1155 College Street) from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

“This event is a great way for people who are already pickleball players to come out and enjoy playing with their fellow players free of charge,” said Summer Smash Coordinator Morrison Carlton. “It’s also a great way to get introduced to a very popular pastime that people in the community may have never played before.”

First time players will be able to learn how to play through lessons and get to play with other beginners. There will free play all day, mixers, door prizes, and a youth after-school class. Paddles and balls are provided during this event and are also available to use daily at Tattnall Pickleball Center with no charge.
