If you’re in the spirit of giving back, the Frank Johnson Recreation Center has an opportunity for you! The Center is collecting nonperishable food items now through December 15 for its first-ever food drive.

You can drop off any canned goods and dry foods at the Center (2227 Mercer University Drive) Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. or Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The food will be delivered to Loaves and Fishes and Depaul USA Daybreak on December 20.

“These organizations were chosen because of their ongoing need for food items coupled with their specialty in community outreach to challenged residents,” said Clarence Thomas with the Frank Johnson Recreation Center.
