Public comment for next phase of Forest Hill Road improvements

Macon-Bibb County and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. held a meeting on December 8 to present the conceptual designs for improvements to Forest Hill Road from Forsyth to Wimbish Roads.

The intent of the project is to improve mobility and safety for all users and modes of transportation, and people at the meeting learned more about the conceptual design, asked questions, and made suggestions on other improvements that could be made.

The conceptual design currently includes signal upgrades at Forsyth Road and Ridge Avenue, a proposed signal at Charter Boulevard, a continuous sidewalk on the west side of Forest Hill Road, and a continuous multi-use path on the east side of Forest Hill Road. Additionally, two alternates will be presented for the intersection at Wimbish Road: one for signal upgrades and one for a roundabout.

For those who were unable to attend the meeting, written statements and questions will be accepted until January 6, 2017 and may be submitted to:
