Historic Macon’s warehouse is packed with new donations that volunteers collected for months in preparation for the nonprofit’s fall Flea Market.
The 45th annual Flea Market will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at HMF’s warehouse, located at 357 Oglethorpe St. A ticketed Preview Party will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 30. Macon Beer Co. will cater the event and provide beer, with wine from Macon Magazine. Tickets are $35. VIP tickets, which allow shoppers inside the warehouse at 5 p.m., are $100.
The Flea Market opens to the public on Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2, when entry is free. The Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday’s hours are noon-5 p.m.
To buy tickets for Friday’s event, go to Historic Macon’s home page, historicmacon.org, and click on the button. HMF members get 15 percent off their Flea Market purchases.
Donations in recent months have been heavy on furniture, from chests of drawers and dining room tables to sofas and lounge chairs. But shoppers also will find everything under the sun, including artwork, holiday decor, garden accessories, lamps, antiques, linens, glassware, electronics, albums, tools, luggage, sporting goods — and much more. The Flea Market is HMF’s largest fundraiser and helps fund its preservation mission.
Historic Macon also is partnering with the Loaves & Fishes Ministry for food collections, asking each shopper to bring at least two nonperishable items, such as dried goods — cereal, macaroni products, snack bars — and canned goods, to help the ministry.
