Flag Retirement Ceremony, Sandie Parker to Thank Community Thursday

February 18, 2015

On Thursday, February 19, at 9:00 a.m. flags at all fire stations in Macon-Bibb County will be returned to full staff. Additionally, all firefighters will continue to wear memorial bands over their badges until March 11, 2015. In using appropriate etiquette for the American Flag, each will be lowered fully and then returned to full staff, and the ceremonies will be conducted by fire fighters at the station in Class A Uniform.

The American Flag currently flying at Fire Station No. 7 – where Lieutenant Randy Parker last served – will be lowered completely and then retired. It will later be placed in a case and placed in a prominent location at that station as a way to honor and remember his service and life. Following the ceremony at Fire Station No. 7, Mrs. Sandie Parker will address the media in order to thank the community for their support during her family’s time of bereavement.

Fire Station No. 7 is located at 1111 Rocky Creek Rd.
