On Friday, November 1, Five Star Credit Union made a donation of $1,000, to Macon Mental Health Matters (MMHM).

“We partnered with Mental Health Matters to bring awareness to mental health issues,” said Robert A. Steensma, president/CEO of Five Star Credit Union. “This year we held the first mental health awareness day at Five Star and as a credit union, we want to give back to our community. This donation will help them continue the great work they do helping the Macon community have a place to turn for assistance.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Five Star Credit Union for their generous support of Macon Mental Health Matters,” said MMHM Director Andrea Cooke. “This donation not only empowers us to expand our resources but also highlights the importance of mental health in our community. Their partnership allows us to continue creating safe spaces and accessible services for those who need support, showing that mental health truly matters here in Macon.”

MMHM was launched in 2021, as Mayor Lester Miller’s initiative to provide accessible mental health services to everyone in our community. Since then, MMHM has reached thousands of people through events, pop-up gyms, one-on-one counseling, and more.  Click here to learn more about MMHM.
