From NewTown Macon:

Downtown Macon restaurants are serving up fair food-themed specials and drinks this weekend in honor of fair season in Middle Georgia. Thirteen participating restaurants will offer specials beginning Friday, October 14 through Sunday, October 16.

NewTown Macon hosted the first Fair Food Frenzy in 2020 to support local restaurants and give Middle Georgians a taste of their favorite fair food during the pandemic. Downtown restaurants and patrons enjoyed the concept so much that it has become an annual event in downtown Macon.

“Fair Food Frenzy is a fun and creative way to boost sales at local restaurants and retailers during a traditionally slower time in downtown Macon,” said Kaitlynn Kressin, owner of Just Tap’d, Ocmulgee Brewpub, and Fall Line Brewing Co. in downtown Macon. “We can’t wait to try all the amazing fair food at all of our favorite local places!”

Participating restaurants include A Brooke Haven Lounge, Bearfoot Tavern, Cashman’s Pub, Dua Fishtank, Fall Line Brewing Co., Felicia’s Cake Factory, Just Tap’d, Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails, Macon Bagels, Macon Beer Company, Ocmulgee Brewpub, Satterfield’s, and the Brick.

This year, retailers are also participating in the fun by hiding golden tickets in their stores for customers to find. Patrons who find the tickets will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a $100 gift card to the downtown business of their choice. Participating retailers are 7th Street Salvage, Ambitious Graphics, Bike Tech Macon, Comics Plus, Dot’s Forget Me Knots, Frankie’s Boutique, New Hope Herbal, The Bohemian Den, Tubman Museum, and Wear.

“NewTown Macon strives to create a vibrant and authentic city experience unparalleled in the South,” said Emily Hopkins, NewTown’s Director of Place and Main Street Macon Manager. “Signature events like Fair Food Frenzy highlight our unique local businesses in a way that is fun and inviting.”

Specials are limited and can be purchased from participating restaurants. This is not a food truck or food vendor event. Patrons should check the operating hours of each business before visiting.
