The Macon-Bibb County Traffic Engineering Division and The Middle Georgia Regional Commission are reaching out for public comment on ways to improve safety around Gray Highway. Gray Highway, in GDOT’s Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, has been specifically named as one of their Focus Corridors and we want to address surrounding streets under Macon Bibb County’s jurisdiction. To address the issues around Gray Highway we are applying for a Safe Streets for All grant! The Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets for All program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. This program supports the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Roadway Safety Strategy and Macon-Bibb County’s goal of zero roadway deaths using a Safe System Approach.
