Economic & Community Development Department holding annual CDBG Pre-Funding Conference

The Macon-Bibb County Economic and Community Development Department will host the Annual Pre-Funding Conference for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The Conference will be held in Commission Chambers at Macon-Bibb County Government Center (700 Poplar Street). Non-profit organizations interested in being considered to receive CDBG funding must attend the mandatory pre-funding conference in order to submit an application.

In the 2016 Program Year, the Department distributed $352.360.82 in CDBG funding, with $175,735.84 going for public services and $176,625 going for minor home repair programs. Some of the public services funded included case management, community referrals, family counseling, homebuyer education, homelessness services, minor home repair, neighborhood organizing, youth mentoring programs, and more.
