People from neighborhoods all over Macon-Bibb grabbed trash bags, gloves, and got to work on July 24 for our second community-wide cleanup. Dozens of teams got together to beautify their communities as part of our Clean Streets Matter initiative.

The results are in, and we’re ready to announce them! You’re invited to a press event at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5th, at City Hall (700 Poplar Street) to hear the results and get involved.

“It was great to see so many people out and about in their neighborhoods, working together to beautify our community,” says Mayor Lester Miller.

During our first community-wide cleanup, 80 groups picked up more than 109,000 pounds of trash from streets all over our community. That’s in addition to our ongoing efforts of removing illegal dump sites, sweeping streets, picking up litter, and more. Visit the Clean Streets Matter website to learn more.
