On Wednesday, May 7, students and volunteers with U Create Macon painted art and spruced up crosswalks on Anthony Road, near Ingram-Pye Elementary School. The traffic-calming project was part of the Safe Routes to School mission in which U Create Macon is a part of.

“The crosswalk painting for Safe Routes to School Day was an exemplary act of community service by the kids, demonstrating their commitment to safety and making a positive impact in their neighborhood,” said U Create Macon Founder Charise Stephens.

May 7 is National Bike and Roll to School Day and U Create Macon has made it a mission to get the youth to bike around safely in the community. This project coincides with its mission, as all as the Pedestrian Safety Review Board (PSRB)’s.

U Create Macon is a community-focused organization dedicated to empowering youth through cycling, education, and mentorship. It serves as a Safe Routes to School Champion Organization, working to get more kids on bikes while promoting safety, health, and active lifestyles. U Create Macon provides various cycling programs, including mountain biking, road cycling, and bike safety workshops. By creating inclusive, supportive spaces for youth of all backgrounds, the organization fosters confidence, leadership, and a lifelong passion for cycling.

U Create Macon is more than just a cycling program – it is a movement to build healthier, more active communities while empowering young people to reach their full potential. The organization envisions a future where every child in Middle Georgia has the opportunity to ride or walk confidently, safely, and with a sense of belonging.
